Gregg Matte
As a college sophomore Gregg Matte founded Breakaway Ministries, which expanded from a home-based Bible study to a weekly gathering of more than 4,000 students. Gregg moved from being the ministry’s speaker to serving on the Board of Directors. Gregg is currently the senior pastor of Houston’s First Baptist Church while leading retreats and conferences around the nation.
Gregg first appeared on the Student Life schedule in summer of 1999. He received his master’s in Christian Education from Southwestern Seminary.
Gregg and his wife, Kelly, live in Houston, TX, with their son, Greyson.
