JR Vassar
In 1998, JR Vassar co-founded iWitness Ministries, a short term mission endeavor for students. He still serves on the board of that ministry. Then, from 2001-2004 he was Teaching Pastor of Lake Pointe Church in Dallas, Texas. Now, JR Vassar is the founding and lead pastor of Apostles Church NYC, a growing and diverse Christ-centered community seeking to serve and shape the city.
JR is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and has devoted his life to the Church, desiring to see it prevail in places where it is weak or altogether absent.
He lives with his wife, Ginger, and three children in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
